About Michelle Schmitt Young
Michelle Schmitt Young joyfully swung open the doors of Bee Young Communications and Marketing in 2020. Her boutique agency allows her to buzz from coast to coast, sharing years of knowledge as a PR guru to develop customized projects to exceed each client’s needs and goals.
As agency principal, Michelle is a seasoned professional who spent the majority of her career as the media relations/marketing maven in the collegiate athletics realm. In addition to working in the White House early in her career, Michelle has more than two decades of experience in public relations and marketing communications. She’s worked with premier brands in higher education, healthcare, and collegiate and professional athletics. Along with creating successful national PR campaigns, Michelle has also achieved impressive media exposure as a result of her local pitches.
Michelle travels the world in search of a great story to tell with the just-right image or video. A natural-born communicator, she has a passion for relationship building and a knack for marketing clients’ projects. After working three Olympic Games, she later installed all of Santa Clara University’s social media platforms beginning in 2008, including the Eye Bronco Network. More recently, she created the Health and Wellness Facebook Live series at USF Health, adding the Instagram Live partnership with the City of Tampa during the coronavirus pandemic.
Michelle has a BA in Public Relations, along with a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Illinois State University. She was nominated for and completed the Sports Management Institute, attending the program at the Universities of North Carolina and Southern California.
When Michelle isn’t creating unique campaigns for clients, she enjoys traveling. In 2019, she visited 12 countries! A diehard St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, she also enjoys scouring estate sales for vintage DIY gems to transform with husband Nick.
