PRESS FOR QBYH AND STEPHEN GARCIA
The Quarterback Your Health Corporation (QBYH), founded by former University of South Carolina quarterback and Tampa native Stephen Garcia and his wife Masha Garcia, will host its inaugural fundraising gala on Friday, August 21, 2026, at the Hilton Garden Inn Tampa Suncoast Parkway. The event brings together community leaders, healthcare professionals, sports personalities, and supporters in a united effort. Specifically, it aims to increase awareness of colorectal cancer and improve access to preventive screenings.
Guest speakers will include Jon Gruden, Steve Spurrier, Martin Gramatica, TGH and AdventHealth surgeons.
QBYH was inspired by Stephen Garcia’s personal battle with Stage IV colorectal cancer. Through his journey, Garcia has become a passionate advocate for early detection and preventive healthcare. He now dedicates himself to helping others recognize the importance of routine screenings that can save lives.
Proceeds from the event will support QBYH’s mission of providing colorectal cancer screenings for uninsured individuals and those who may not meet traditional screening age guidelines but have elevated risk factors. By removing barriers to early detection, the organization aims to reduce preventable cancer deaths and improve health outcomes throughout the community.
Guests will enjoy an inspiring evening featuring notable sports figures, healthcare leaders, community advocates, guest speakers, a silent auction, and opportunities to directly support QBYH’s life-saving initiatives. Additionally, more celebrity and medical guest appearances are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
“Receiving a colorectal cancer diagnosis changed my life forever. Our goal is to ensure that more people have access to the screenings and information that could help detect cancer early, when treatment is most effective. If sharing my story encourages even one person to get screened, it will be worth it.” – Stephen Garcia
